Professional development courses

Background

As the need for environmental assessment increases there is a requirement to ensure that regulators, industry and their representatives are: conversant with assessment objectives; know how to use available tools; can interpret the results; understand the implications of how the tools are used. Under funding from the Natural Environment Research Council, STAR partners NERC-CEH, IRSN and SCK•CEN together with the University of Stirling, developed and ran a number of training course on radiological environmental assessment focussing on the ERICA Tool (course materials and feedback can be found here). The courses are primarily aimed at regulators and industry, and those who may conduct assessments on their behalf. However, the course is also open to PhD. students.
